Laundry Stripping :: Yes It’s All the Rage | East Texas Moms

Don’t you just love it when you learn about a trend from social media that actually enriches your life?!?

That’s how I felt when I learned about the concept of Laundry Stripping. An account on Instagram AND TikTok shows the art of restoring and detoxing your laundry through a process called Laundry Stripping. Go Clean Co shares a multitude of cleaning ideas that we can all do at home. I like it when I can ACTUALLY learn about something that can truly be done in my own home. So here’s the process…

First I took my clean (yes, clean) workout clothes. This was everything, leggings, bras and tanks. Sort like colors. THIS IS IMPORTANT!! (It’s time to throw in my girls kneepads and dance leotards too!) I used the largest tub I had in my home.

Then you fill the tub with hot water only until it covers and soaks the laundry. While the tub is filling with HOT, HOT, HOT water, get your detergent concoction ready to go in.

1 Generous Scoop of Tide Powder Detergent

1/4 cup Borax

1/4 cup Arm & Hammer Laundry Soda

1/4 cup Calgon

Make sure that the laundry is stirred and coated with the detergent mix. Let sit for 4+ hours stirring once an hour.

Don’t be surprised if at any point in these hours your tub begins to smell like a locker room!! EWWWW! But oh so satisfying!

Once you reach the desired hours (at least 4), drain the tub, wring clothes and move stripped laundry to your washer. Run a full cycle with NO soap or fabric softner (there is already plenty of soap in the clothes) dry, fluff and fold. (Go Clean Cos’ words!)

NOW smell them! It’s amazing!

You’ll want to do this to all of your clothes…and honestly, you can!

Happy Stripping!!
